You character can be customized with different Attribute points and Affinity points.
Attributes
Most players choose two different Attributes to achieve the best effects:
Name | Description |
Attack | Each point increases Strength and Intelligence by 3. |
Defense | Each point increases Defense and Resistance by 3, and Resilience by 0.1%. |
Health | Each point increases Max HP by 20. |
Power | Each point increase of a Critical attack by 0.1%, and bonus Critical Damage by 1%. |
Affinities
In Ether Saga Online Affinites are an essential part in developing your character. Each class has a number of skills which use affinities to power their damage. Each affinity has strength against an affinity, and weakness to another affinity. Knowing your class and which classes are easy to kill and which to avoid are a key part in PvP, and knowing which classes are most useful in dungeons are vital in PvE instances.
Affinity | Effect | Strong against | Weak against |
Oora | Increases Oora damage and reduces enemy Widu damage and Widu curse accuracy. | Widu | Pyra |
Widu | Increases Widu damage and reduces enemy Erda damage and Erda curse accuracy. | Erda | Oora |
Erda | Increases Erda damage and reduces enemy Unda damage and Unda curse accuracy. | Unda | Widu |
Unda | Increases Unda damage and reduces enemy Pyra damage and Pyra curse accuracy. | Pyra | Erda |
Pyra | Increases Pyra damage and reduces enemy Oora damage and Oora curse accuracy. | Oora | Unda |
Affinities affect your skill damage as well as the ability to reduce incoming damage and prevent incoming curses accuracy.
When affinities are strong against the other, it reduces the damage recieved as well as curse accuracy.
Your outgoing damage and curse accuracy does not increase merely it appears to be more because your opponent most likely has less resistance or affinity strong vs yours.
DMG - these lines indicate how much damage you can do using certain affinity skills (for example, if you are an Pyra-class putting points into Pyra will increase your Pyra skill damage). The DMG value also reduces incoming damage and reduces curse accuracy for a particular affinity (see Overview). This value can be raised using Affinity points when you level up, Titles, Fusion bonuses from fuse pets, Gear, and Signets.
RES - adding resistance to a particular affinity means incoming skill damage and curse accuracy of that affinity will be reduced. Resistance can be increased by equipping Signets.
Signets
There are two different types of signets;
- Elemental signets: Oora, Windu, Pyra, erda and Unda
- Class signets: Soul/Body and Mind
Class signets are all lv90+, while the elemental ones come in both lv45 and lv90 versions.

Class Affinity
All classes have a primary affinity, which affects the majority of their natural skills in combat. Some classes have a secondary affinity, which affect a few natural skills. You will want to maximise the primary affinity in order to get the best damage output.
For the classes that don't have a natural second affinity, you are free to choose a second (and some even choose a third although this is more advanced). A good tip is to pick an affinity which will help in PvE instances (eg using Unda for D7: Infernal Grotto) or PvP (eg using Erda to resist Unda skills/curses).
Class | Primary Affinity | Secondary Affinity | INT/STR damage |
Rogue | Oora | INT | |
---|---|---|---|
Shaman | Widu | INT | |
Ranger | Unda | Widu | INT |
Mystic | Unda | INT | |
Conjurer | Unda/Pyra | Unda/Pyra | INT |
Dragoon | Erda | INT |
Note: the majority of Conjurer skills are Unda, however with the release of Subclasses those who choose the path of the Pyromancer will have Pyra as their main affinity, due to the Pyra-based Omni Lamp skill.
